Dogra Certificate
This refers to Syed Ali Geelani’s statement that he wants complete withdrawal of the Dogra Certificate order. If the centre has already amended the order about relaxation on the basis of height and chest, why is the state not revoking the orders now? Do they want unrest in Kashmir this year too? Though Geelani has threatened peaceful protests, there is no guarantee that they will remain peaceful, as has been the case in 2010. Kashmiris want to live in peace but sadly the state government has again given a chance to the Hurriyat to call the shots. I want to request the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to consider public opinion and sentiment on the issue and revoke the order which has no constitutional basis. I also urge upon the parties in Jammu not to get agitated over the revocation of the orders because they are illegal in absence of constitutional ground. Let good sense prevail.
