Meets Geelani
Srinagar, Apr 27: LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan Wednesday discussed the Kashmir situation with Hurriyat Conference (G) leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani at the latter’s residence here.
“We want to convey to the Parliament and people of India through Paswan ji that no development and packages can put the Kashmir issue on backburner,” Geelani told reporters after his meeting with the Member Parliament and former union minister. Asked why he was not entering into a dialogue with New Delhi appointed panel of interlocutors, Geelani said, “Government of India is not ready to concede that Kashmir is a dispute. It is the core issue for us.”
Earlier, Paswan visited the family of slain Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees Chief Moulvi Showkat Ahmad Shah and expressed condolences with the bereaved. “He was a peace loving man and servant of humanity,” Paswan said.
