Nasir visits PHQ, chairs meeting of top brass
Jammu, Apr 27: After assuming the charge of Minister of State of Home, Nasir Aslam Wani, today held a meeting with the top brass of officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police to discuss various law-and-order issues.
Director General of Police, Kuldip Khoda and all senior officers of the Police Department attended the meeting.
While briefing the Minister, the DGP gave a detailed power-point presentation about the working of various wings of the Police Organization. Among various issues, the DGP gave a resume of present law-and-order situation, infrastructure, crime detection, communication network, traffic regulation, social policing, civic action programme and deputation of personnel to various organizations.
In order to effectively tackle exigencies, the Minister was briefed about the latest non-lethal techniques made use of. He was told about the steps that J&K Police has taken to acquaint its personnel in respect for human rights and use of minimum force to avoid loss of life and property while dealing with law and order situations.
Later, the Minister appreciated the steps taken by the department in organizing various workshops and training courses for its personnel.
Nasir Aslam asked the department to deal stringently with cases of crime so that it works as an effective deterrent for other criminals in the society.
