Jammu, Apr 27: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for Hajj-2011 at the second meeting of State Hajj Committee (SHC) here.
 The Chief Minister, who is also the Chairman of the  SHC, while taking stock of the conduct of Hajj pilgrimage in 2010 received detailed briefing about various aspects of transportation, issuance of passport, availability of flights and other facilities provided to Hajjis.
 The Committee was informed that as per the communication from Hajj Committee of India the date of draw of lots of Hajj 2011 has been fixed as May 14, June 2011 while the last date of submission of passport by the selected pilgrims is June 15, 2011.
 In addition to reserved quota for the drop outs in last 3-consecutive years and those who could proceed on Hajj for non-submission of passports, the Hajj seats would be confirmed without draw of lots for the intending Hajj pilgrims of 70 years of age on March 31 along with one companion with the condition that both of them are in possession of valid international passport on the last date of receipt of Hajj application form i.e. April 30 2011.
 The Committee was informed that State Hajj Committee had received 18,900 applications from the intending Hajj pilgrims for Hajj 2011.
