Contractors call off strike
Jammu, Apr 28: Following assurance by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to address their problems, the Central Contractors’ Coordination Committee called off its strike today. While meeting a delegation of the contractors at the Civil Secretariat, the Chief Minister said he will hold a meeting with all the concerned Ministers and officers at Srinagar after the offices reopen at Srinagar to resolve their genuine demands.
Minister of State for Home, H&UDD, PHE, Tourism & Revenue Nasir Aslam Wani was also present on the occasion. The delegation of contractors was represented by Muhammad Akbar Pal and Farooq Ahmad Dar, an official statement said.Later, the contractors thanked CM for giving them a patient hearing and listening to their demands.
