Pentagon disappointed at fighter jet news from India

Washington, Apr 28: The Pentagon is deeply disappointed at India's decision to exclude two American companies – Boeing and Lockheed martin – from its multi-billion fighter jet purchase order.
 "We are deeply disappointed by this news but we look forward to continuing to grow and develop our defence partnership with India and remain convinced that the United States offers our defence partners around the globe the world's most advanced and reliable technology," Pentagon spokesman Col Dave Lapan told PTI.
 Both Boeing and Lockheed Martin were aggressively biding for the anticipated USD 11 billion deal for at least 126 fighter aircrafts.
 Top US officials, including President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defence Secretary Robert Gates have pitched for it during their conversation with the Indian counterparts.
