Jammu, Apr 2: Minister for Industries & Commerce, S. S. Slathia assured that the Government will continue to attach top priority to the development of industrial sector within the State and take all initiatives required to promote industrialization that would pave way for overall socio-economic development for the benefit of the State.
He was addressing the Officers of SICOP while reviewing the overall performance of the Corporation during FY 2010-11.
Managing Director SICOP, R K Razdan informed the Minister that during the FY 2010-11, the Corporation has achieved a Total Business Turnover of Rs 651 crores that accounted for Total Income of Rs 16.50 Crores and the Net Cash Surplus of ` 3.52 Crores had accrued during the said period.
S.S. Slathia appreciated the highest ever financial achievements of SICOP that had percolated benefit to large segment of SSI sector within J&K State and he emphasized upon the officers to continue to work with same zeal so as to ensure that the Corporation maintains its viable financial stability in the coming period also. He noted with satisfaction that all the units of SICOP have shown positive results and stressed upon the management to further activate the District offices, particularly located in the far flung areas, so that the benefit of the State Industrial Policy reaches to these remote areas also. He also directed that SICOP should ensure implementation of all the Projects in hand within the stipulated timeframe provided by the Government.
