SMC contractors call on CM
Jammu, Apr 2: The representatives of Srinagar Municipal Corporation Contractors’ Anjumn called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and presented him a memorandum of demands, a handout Saturday said.
The SMC contractors among other things requested for shifting of Works Division of SMC from Regal Chowk commercial area to the SMC building at Karan Nagar. They also demanded for “replacement of document system in the tendering process and application of rate schedule of PWD on municipal works.”
The representatives also apprised the Chief Minister of various issues relating to the SMC functioning and welfare of the members of the Anjuman.
The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Nasir Aslam Wani was present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing to the Contractors’ Anjuman and said that its genuine demands would be met, the handout said.
