Army dedicates community hall to villagers
Udhampur, Apr 29: As part of ‘Op-Sadbhavana’, Army today dedicated a community hall to the people of Hartaryan in Udhampur.
MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia who was the chief guest lauded the efforts of the Army. He said such projects would benefit the villagers of the remote areas and help foster a strong bond between the locals and the Army.
Commanding officer 5071 ASC BN, Udhampur, Munish Gupta, advised the villagers that the community hall be maintained for the benefit of next generation.
Village Sarpanch, Hartaryan Sanjay Kumar Sharma, thanked the Army for such gesture and said this project would benefit about 5000 people in and around Hartaryan.
The school children of Government Middle School, Kambal Danga presented a colorful cultural programme and Department of Information and Public Relations also presented a Dogri cultural programme.
The function attended by the about 400 people including the village elders, ladies and school children.
A community lunch was organized for all by the Army in which all had a meal after the event. The local school principle said the efforts by the Army were laudable and would bring people closer to the National cause.
Army Officers including Capt. Renuka, Headmaster Government Middle School Kambal Danga, President (NGO) Sudhar Sabha Committee, Hartaryan, Panchs, prominent citizens of the areas were also present (KNS)
