CS chairs meet on Panchayat empowerment
SEEKS REPORT ON SSA WORKING
Jammu, Apr 29: The Empowered Committee set up by the Government under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal to look into the issue of empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) met here on Friday, an official spokesman said.
He said this was the third meeting of the Committee in series of meetings held in view of its recommendation regarding transfer of funds, functions and functionaries to the elected three tire PRIs.
In another meeting, the Chief Secretary sought a status report about the pace of implementation and achievement of targets under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) since its start in JK in 2004.
