Referral to Select Committee vindicates our stand: PDP
PRIVATE PROPERTY BILL
Jammu, Apr 3: Peoples Democratic Party today said the Government’s decision to refer the Private Property Tax Bill to the Joint Select Committee of both the Houses was vindication of party’s stand against this “anti-people Bill.”
In a statement, party leader and MLA Darhal, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, said during the debate on this Bill, the PDP members gave some amendments to make it people friendly and to delete some clauses. He regretted that instead of accommodating genuine suggestions of the opposition, the Government was in “haste to get it passed” in the Assembly.
He said the entire opposition opposed the Bill due to some “anti-people provision” in it and had staged a walkout when Government passed the Bill from the Assembly.
