‘RUN-AWAY’ CHALLANS SLAPPED IN CITY

275 violators booked by Traffic police

Srinagar, Apr 4: “Run-Away” Challan has been introduced in the City with as many as 275 accused already informed of their offence in the first go.
 A police handout Monday said: “275 vehicle owners are informed through a notice about traffic violations committed by them with location and date shown against each. Full particulars of the vehicle owners with violations against each are appended in the list.”
 The accused have been asked to approach the office of Superintendent of Police Traffic, Srinagar, Maqsood Uz Zaman within three days positively.
 “Those who fail to appear, their challans will be dispatched to them through Hon’ble Court for conviction,” Zaman told Greater Kashmir.
