6th notification of Panchayat polls issued in JK
Jammu, Apr 4: The notification for sixth phase of panchayat elections in nine blocks in Jammu and Kashmir was issued today.
The notification was issued by the state Chief Electorate Officer B R Sharma for Langate (Kupawara district), Tangmarg (Baramulla), Khag (Budgam), Breng (Anantnag), Reasi (Reasi district), Majalta (Udhampur), Billawar (Kathua), Doongi and Thanamandi (Rajouri).
The last date for filing nominations is April 13 and scrutiny of the nominations is April 15. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 18 and the date of poll and counting is May 4.
First notification for the panchayat elections was issued on March 18, second on March 22, third on March 25, fourth on March 29 and fifth on April 1.
