Health sector
This refers to a news report about dismal facilities at the GB Panth hospital. The condition of hospitals is very bad in Kashmir. The state government is paying little attention to the hospitals. The ministers are only making announcements about augmenting infrastructure in hospitals, but nothing is done in reality. We are far behind in terms of annual spending on healthcare. In countries like France, millions of rupees are exclusively reserved for spending on healthcare. That is why their systems are so strong. The state must get serious in looking into issues in healthcare like shortage of doctors, paramedical staff etc. Our hospitals have to be well equipped to meet the growing challenges in healthcare. Every year people can’t be allowed to visit outside for treatment. That practice has to be curbed because it is affecting common man like anything.
