Don’t divert

This refers to diversion of funds from Kashmir. It has happened in the past as well. This time, however, it is the responsibility of the people to raise their voices against the issue. The legislators from Kashmir, who have been elected by people amid odds, must rise to the occasion and protest the diversion of funds. Even Hurriyat Conference cannot afford to keep mum on such issues. This practice has to be curbed once and for all so that there is equitable development of all the regions of the state rather than one particular region, which has not suffered at all in the past 20 years of conflict. It is important to realize that Kashmir has witnessed devastation of sorts over the years and requires healing touch. That is possible only when the elected representatives of the state think about the future of the state.
