GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Apr 5: Authorities on Tuesday fined distributors of Rani juice, a popular juice brand, for absence on MRP label on the tins.
“Prompted by a complaint that Rani Juice tins are being sold in markets without the label of MRP(Maximum Retail Price), a team of officers from the Legal Metrology department raided the premises of distributors/retailers and found the complaint was genuine,” an official handout said.

The Legal Metrology officials said: “Packaged Commodities Rules,1977, it is mandatory on every packer/manufacturer/Importer to print on the label of the pack the MRP in addition to other mandatory declarations.”
“In case of complaints the consumers are requested to contact Inspector, Legal Metrology Srinagar or ring on the Phone NO 0194-2105756.”
