‘Army dewaters inundated Rawatpora’

Baramulla: The army on Tuesday night pressed into service the de-watering pumps to drain out the water from inundated Rawatpora Mohalla Delina here.
 According to defence communiqué, due to incessant rains, the area was inundated forcing the people to vacate their homes. “After receiving no response from the civil administration, the civilians approached the Army camp located at Delina for help. After assessing the situation, the Army arranged for water pumping sets to flush out water and provide temporary relief so that the people could move back to their houses,” the communiqué said.
 It said the Army continued to use these pumps even on second day bringing respite to residents. “The soldiers also pressed into action earth-mover vehicles to dig out a small Nala to drain out the water.”
