35 labourers hurt in mishap

Bandipora/Bijbehara, Apr 6: At least 35 labourers of Hindustan Construction Company were injured when a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge at Pethkoot area in this north Kashmir district on Wednesday.
The bus was way from Bandipora to tunnel site of Kishen- Ganga Hydroelectric project.
All the injured were referred to district hospital where condition of four is stated to be critical.
Soon after the accident, locals held demonstration outside the hospital against lack of facilities. “The hospital is ill equipped and there are fewer beds. We had to put injured on benches in hospital corridor,” said Reyaz Ahmad.
196 Kg fukki seized
Police has seized 195 kilograms of Fukki from a truck (HR55-4525) arresting the driver at Tulkhun Bijbehara.
According to the police, the driver has been identified as Nissar Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Nabi of Parnoth Ramban The vehicle has also been seized, police added.
