Dogra Certificate: understand the design behind it
Your story on Dogra Certificate was timely. It is however surprising that none of the separatist leaders or civil society members understood the conspiracy behind this order. The comments from advocate Zafar Shah were quite appropriate and illuminating. It was further explained nicely by editorial in your newspaper. It is amazing that a minister has courage of issuing an order that too in presence of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference at the helm- which claims to be a party that has undone the sale deed under which Kashmir was sold in 1846. It claims to have led the Quit Kashmir Movement. It was in a column in Greater Kashmir where I read that there were 67000 Muslims from Jammu in British army as against 72000 and today the Jammu Muslims including Gujjars, Bakarwals, Parhais are asked to give up their ethnicity and get declared as Dogras. Gujars, Parahis and Kashmiris living in Jammu province have their own history. It is therefore important to ensure that this Dogra Certificate order is revoked forthwith so that there is no threat to the integrity of the state.
