Govt mulls storing buffer stock of DAP
Jammu, Apr 7: To strengthen distribution system of fertilizers in the state, Minister for agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir has said the government is seriously considering for making buffer stock of DAP fertilizer so that the farmers get it timely.
The Minister gave this assurance to a deputation of fertilizer license holders led by S Tejinder Singh of Marh Constituency here today.
The government is taking measures to stock DAP fertilizer in advance before the khariff and rabi season in the state so that the farmers do not face inconvenience in peak seasons, the Minister said, adding that the government has already placed a fool-proof distribution system of fertilizer under Controller of Fertilizer to provide it at every nook and corner of the State.
Mir said issuance of fertilizer licenses at village level helped a lot for its uniform distribution in every agriculture block. Giving assurance to the deputationists, he said Controller fertilizer has already directed to book two racks of DAP fertilizer to cater to the needs of farmers for ensuing khariff season in Jammu.
The deputationists appreciated the efforts of the government for bringing reformative measures in the sector from last two years and hoped that more steps needs to be taken in this regards.
