KU Prof awarded Scientist Emeritus Fellowhip
Srinagar, Apr 7: Professor Ghulam Hassan Dar, Former Head Department of Botany, Kashmir University has been awarded Scientist Emeritus Fellowship by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
An official handout said the communication No F F6-134/10(SA-II) dated March 28, 2011 has been issued in this regard.
“The Fellowship is awarded at national level to highly qualified, meritorious and experienced superannuated teachers on the basis of the quality of their research and published work,” it said.
During the span of his about 35 years of teaching and research career, Prof Dar is widely known as an expert on the Kashmir Himalayan plant diversity.
He is a member of many international and national academic/scientific societies. He is a Fellow of the Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy (FIAT), and has received an International Fellowship of the Danish Academy of Sciences.
