Mohalla, Masjid Intizaamiya committees meet to resolve

GK CITY REPORTER

Srinagar, July 31: Scores of people representing various Mohallas and Masjid Intizaamiya committees in the City on Sunday assembled at Chattabal and resolved to support “tooth and nail” the construction of an educational institute in the area near Zampa Kadal bridge.
The delegates resolved that it was the “need of the hour” to quickly start the work on Darul Uloom Muhammadiya, for which the government has already given requisite clearance, including police verification while various building permissions are also in place.
The meeting, which was attended by representatives of Masajids from areas like Zampa Kadal, Kak Sarai, Chattabal, Karan Nagar, Zaldagar, Batamaloo, Jawahir Nagar, Hyderpora, Pir Bagh, Lal Bazar, Safa Kadal and other areas “unanimously agreed that a small group of miscreants had been hindering the construction work” adding that there was no conflict between the “genuine stakeholders.”
While the work on the shed was started immediately amid a helping hand by one and all, the foundation stone for the educational institute is expected to be laid in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the meeting including Chattabal locals have appealed the Divisional Commissioner Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Inspector General of Police Shiv Murari Sahai, DIG MS Lone, SSP Srinagar, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari and DDC Srinagar Meraj Kakroo and SP north Shoket Shah to provide requisite assistance so that the work isn’t hampered by any “miscreants who want to sabotage” the  philanthropist endeavor. They also appealed the media to play a positive role in the matter.
