6 forest employees suspended
FIRDOUS KHANDAY
Thatri, Aug 9: At least six employees of Bhaderwah forest division were placed under suspension on Tuesday after they were allegedly found involved in a timber smuggling bid in the area.
Sources said that the department had seized a truck load of smuggled timber and had ordered a probe.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), BA Shah, took the cognizance of the incident and ordered suspension of the accused employees, after their alleged involvement in helping the smuggling of green gold from the forests of Bhaderwah tehsil surfaced.
Pertinently, Police on Monday had seized 25 illegal timber logs when these were being unloaded from a Tata Mobile vehicle at a local furniture shop.
A case in this regard under FIR number 117 of 2011 has been registered at the concerned police station.
