Service no luxury: Govt
Srinagar, Aug 9: While furnishing the information to the applicant, the State Government has attempted to clarify the usage of choppers on necessity grounds, asserting that the “use of choppers is a necessity in the governance of a place like J&K.”
“It is no more a luxury due to rugged, hostile mountainous terrain and inaccessibility of many regions by road,” the Commissioner, Civil Aviation Department, Capt S
Katoch, mentions in the divulged information. “It also becomes a necessity due to prevailing security scenario. You must appreciate that access of the government is phenomenal with the choppers and it is the most efficient tool for monitoring activities of development and progress of various projects within the state.”
