Once posh Jawahar Nagar craves for attention

I am a resident of Jawahar Nagar, supposedly a yesteryear posh area, but very pathetic these days. It has been more than eight months now since the work for construction of new drains was undertaken by the concerned department, reportedly after the intervention of the local MLA.
But the people of the whole area are disturbed because of the slow pace of work. At a time only four to five men were put to work by the different contractors resulting in slow execution of the work. Now the ‘project’ is near completion but nobody is being seen on work. The construction material like Bajri, sand, shuttering and lot of rubble that was excavated from the sites, is scattered everywhere.
We the residents request the concerned authorities to finish the work as early as possible to save us from further inconvenience.
Ironically almost all the roads, lanes and by lanes were macadamized only last year. But this ill timed drainage work has put the road back to mess. This is naturally because there is no coordination between various departments.
Besides we have many parks in Jawahar Nagar area, some are very well kept while others are neglected. We request the concerned department to kindly get the remaining parks also maintained on a regular basis because the sites have become a breeding ground for stray dogs, apart from garbage heaps.
