Refer to the article "Today was the day" by Abdul Majid Zargar. The author has thrown some insights hitherto unknown, perhaps based on family sources, in so far as Sadiq's volte-face is concerned. While he has made a mention of Pandit trio, D N Wariku, K N Bamzai and B M Koul (he seems to be the same General who had a stomach upset during 1962 China war) he has some how forgotten to make a mention of the Trojan Horse viz. D P Dhar. It was this man who played directors role in the drama that unfolded on 9th August 1953. As revealed by Sheikh Sahib himself, in his autobiography Aatish-i- Chinar, that Prem Nath Bazaz, Shiv Narayan Fotedar and Sham Lal Saraf, deceived him at different points in time during freedom struggle, his inclusion of D P Dhar in his cabinet is a riddle for historians yet to unravel. Local games apart 1953 was the result of Nehru's great game plan as revealed by M J Akbar in his book that he had never any intention of plebiscite or let Kashmir go whatever way that included Independence or even autonomy that was already granted. This was revealed by Nehru to a foreign journalist while holidaying in Sonamarg to beat the heat Delhi was spewing then.
