Surankote, Aug 12: Police have collected blood samples of two families- which claimed that that youth killed in a fake encounter resembles with their sons – for DNA matching, official sources said here today.
They said that a Board of Doctors, headed by BMO Dr Mumtaz Bhati, from Sub District Hospital Surankote has collected the samples of Muhammad Ishaq his son Muhammad Fazal and daughter Rubinna Kousa after the family approached the police and stake claim over the body of the slain youth, whom they identified as Muhammad Aslam. The blood samples of the slain youth were collected before his body was buried, they said.
“Muhammad Ishaq of Saaj village of Rajouri family has claimed that the picture of the youth resemble with his son”, a senior police officer said adding, “We have collected the blood samples and will sent it for DNA matching”.
Another person Muhammad Din son of Illam Din of Jaganoo, Udhampur also arrived, here today, and claimed that his missing son also resembled with that of the youth in the picture (of slain youth).
“We have also collected his blood samples for DNA test”, police sources said.
The identification of the slain youth was difficult in view of the fact that the accused persons have fired a burst of AK rifle in his face. “The face is beyond recognition”, sources said.
Meanwhile, the accused SPO and solider, arrested for the murder of the youth, were produced before the local court today, which extended their police remand for another four days.
