Thousands pay obeisance at Thajiwara Pracheen cave

Srinagar: On the eve of ‘Shravan Purnimashi” thousands of devotees had darshan of Lord Shiva at Pracheen Cave of Amarnath at Thajiwara (Bijbehara) district Islamabad (Anantnag).
 The pracheen cave of Thajiwara is an inseparable part of Swami Amarnath pilgrimage. It is one of the most prominent places of pilgrimage in the valley of Kashmir.
 According to “Thajiwar-Mahatam”, an ancient religious scripture of Kashmir, Thajiwara shrine is equivalent to the Holi cave of Amarnath in all respects. It is the reason that devotees have been paying obeisance at the shrine of Thajiwara since times immemorial. Devotees from Jammu and different parts of state attended the annual festival and paid obeisance at this ancient cave.
