Serious issue

This refers to the news “Timber smugglers on prowl in Bandipora.” Residents of Ajas, Mulkhiuhama and other adjoining areas in this north Kashmir district have alleged that officials of the Forest Department have failed to check the timber smuggling and wanton loot of forests in the area. It is indeed a matter of concern. The forests are an identity of Kashmir and nobody can afford to plunder the forest wealth in the state. If the report is true, the Forest Department must swing into action and save the areas in Tangbhutoo, Bazipora, Rangnar, Krushu of Ajas Mulkhuihama, CheckPor and Kudara of Ajas Range. The Government has a duty to protect the state’s resources at any cost.
