Banks advance `181 cr to IG Units in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 18: A district level consultative committee regarding functioning of banks in districts in Srinagar was held here today under the chairmanship of Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo (DDC Srinagar).
  B A Makhdoomi Joint Director (P), R K Meena, AGM (RBI), Des Raj Jaryal AGM (NABARD), Tassduq Muhammad (LBO), heads of all line departments and district co-ordinators of all banks attended the meeting. A review of achievements was made under Annual Action Plan of 2011-12 for the quarter ending June 2011 and other allied matters were deliberated upon. Lead District Manager M. A. Chuloo informed the house that Rs 181.63 crore to 7415 units under priority sector have been disbursed at by June 2011 end, recording 44 pc achievement in financial terms.
 Giving break up of advances, he said: Rs.7.86 cr has been advanced to agriculture, Rs 43.57 cr to small enterprises, Rs 5.14 cr to Micro Credit, Rs, 2.24 Cr to Education and Rs, 122.82 Cr to Housing. Out of above under all government sponsored schemes financial institutions disbursed an amount of Rs 6.10 crore to 384 beneficiaries in the District, registering achievement of 9 pc unit wise & 9 pc in financial terms as on June 2011.
 To ensure greater credit flow, the Banks should implement the policies framed by the Reserve Bank of India in to so that the dissemination of the credit is sped up.
