Gurez inter-village volleyball tournament held
Gurez, Aug 18: As part of Independence Day celebrations, the Snow Leopard Brigade organised a “Gurez Inter Village Volleyball” competition from August 11-16 at Army Goodwill School Baraub.
About 23 village teams from the Gurez Valley participated and played the matches.
According to defence PRO statement, the “Gurez Inter Village Volleyball” competition was aimed at developing a competitive spirit amongst the local youth as also to provide them a platform to showcase their talent.
Commander of the Gurez Brigade was the chief guest during the finals.
The winning team of Baraub besides being awarded a trophy were also awarded Medals, Certificates of Excellence and track suits.
A painting competition for children of Army Goodwill School, Baraub was also organised alongside the Volleyball tournament. The theme for the painting competition was National integration and the best painting in each category was also awarded prizes.
