Beacon pleads Shalteng delay
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Aug 1: The Beacon authorities on Monday pleaded the delay in the four-laning on Parimpora-Shalteng track saying the work has been halted due to “non performance of the contractor.”
A Beacon spokesman said : “Due to the non-performance of contractor on four-laning project, the road widening got stalled.”
“After watching the slow performance, we issued several notices to the contractor. But no headway was made. We issued pre final and then final notices and in June 2011 we cancelled the project,” said a spokesman.
To provide public a smooth driveway, the official said, the work has been “started departmentally and every effort is on to get it done swiftly.”
