SRTC employees take to streets, demand revamp of corporation

GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, Aug 1: Hundreds of State Road Transport Corporation Employees today took to street in protest against the failure of the government to improve the financial heath of the ailing Corporation.
The employees gathered outside SRTC workshop and staged a protest demonstration, demanding that corporation should be run on the pattern of policies adopted by the Himachal Pradesh government to improve the financial position.

Employees alleged that there is total chaos prevailing in the company and majority of the promises made by the government which include release of regular salary, COLA slabs and other workers benefits have not been implemented fully.
Addressing the gathering Ashok Mehra alleged that management of the state run transport corporation has always betrayed the employees and has failed to address their grivances.
The protesters also demanded implementation of 6th pay commission report in favour of the Public Sector employees.

Dev Raj Bali-president and Surinder Singh-General Secretary of the association criticized the adamant attitude of the management for not clearing their dues till date though at the time of VRS they were assured that all the dues and benefits will be cleared within 60 days.
