Paragliding Course at JIM&WS
Srinagar, Aug 19: Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports (JIM &WS) Pahalgam has started seven day Basic Paragliding course at its Centre- Sanasar near Patnitop from Friday in which 25 participants from different parts of Jammu region are participating under the sponsorship of Jammu Tourism Deptt.
Col Virinder Singh, Principal JIM & WS, in his opening address, praised Tourism Department for its extraordinary efforts to train the local youths in adventure sports like Tourists guide courses, Mountaineering, Skiing & Paragliding courses to make them capable of self employment in the field of tourism which will indirectly boost tourism culture in the state.
The course started with introduction to different types of Paragliders and will subsequently include taking flight on the gentle slopes of the Sanasar under the expert guidance of well trained Instructors of JIM & WS which is the only National Body in the State to provide training in Aero Sports.
