Pro-Anna protests continue in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 19: Support to social activist Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption on Friday continued to spread in parts of Jammu with students continuing to boycott their classes and social groups backing the movement in unison.
Around 600 girl students of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar boycotted their students and took out a peaceful march on the campus. Chanting pro-Anna slogans and anti-UPA slogans, the girl students blocked the highway for sometime.
The students urged the UPA government to concede the demand of adoption of Jan Lokpal bill, including the Prime Minister and Supreme Court Judges in its ambit.
“We will continue to support Anna’s movement till the government accepts the demand of adoption of Jan Lokpal bill,” they said.
Similarly, the students of various degree colleges like GDC Paloura, Government MAM PG College and GDC Ramnagar also boycotted their classes and staged demonstrations.
The lecturers of Government Gandhi Memorial Science College also took out a candle light march in their varsity campus this morning to back Anna’s movement on corruption and black-money and strong Lokpal bill.
