Ramesh meets Vohra

Srinagar: Union Minister for Rural Development, Jairam Ramesh, called on Governor N N Vohra, at Raj Bhavan here last evening.
 During their meeting, the Governor and the Union Rural Development Minister discussed important issues relating to the implementation of the various flagship rural development schemes and programmes in the State, and particularly reviewed the achievements under PMGSY, MGNREGA, Drinking Water and Sanitation Schemes.
 The Governor urged Ramesh to provide extra special technical support and financial support for Jammu and Kashmir emerging as a frontline Panchayati Raj state.
 The Minister informed the Governor that he had had useful discussions with the Minister for Rural Development, Ali Muhammad Sagar, and also taken a detailed review meeting with the State Chief Secretary and all the concerned officers. The Governor thanked the Union Minister for his strong support and invited him to make frequent visits to the State.
