Umar Colony Mughal Road seeks macadamization, drain restoration
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Aug 22: Umar Colony (Moghal Road) Lal Bazar residents have appealed the Chief Engineer R&B department to macadamize the “remaining portion of the road and restoration of surface drain running alongside.”
In a statement the Social Welfare Committee, Umar Colony said: “The road has been given all the 3 grading i.e black cutting, soling and mattling. Now only macadamization is needed to make it all season functional for pedestrian and traffic flow.”
“Pertinently this road remained in shambles for years together because of deep drain construction. Now as R&B Circular Road has done its job quite satisfactorily, macadamization is a must to give the road finishing touch,” the committee added.
“Being a busy road linking Hazratbal, Mala Bagh and Zakoora, the connectivity will help the residents as well as public at large if the needful is done immediately.”
“The surface drain too may kindly be restored for free flow of sewage. This drain is presently filled with soil and other unwanted material resulting in severe sewege problems,” the Mohalla committee said.
