LA panel concerned over frequent mishaps in erstwhile Doda
Asks DC Poonch to submit report about recent accident
Srinagar, Aug 23: House Committee constituted to look into the causes of frequent road accidents in erstwhile Doda district on Tuesday showed serious concern over the recurrent road mishaps in the State.
The committee, which met here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, M Y Tarigami while expressing sympathies with the families of accident victims of Poonch road accident, directed the Deputy Commissioner to furnish the report about the causes that led to the tragic road mishap showing the details of relief measures also initiated in the wake of the dreadful happening.
The Committee also deliberated over the reports submitted by its members including G M Saroori, Abdul Majid Wani, Ashok Kumar, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo and Aijaz Ahmad Jan.
The committee decided that it will submit its interim report in the ensuing Assembly session for its thorough deliberations.
Earlier, the Committee condoled the tragic deaths in Poonch road mishap, conveying heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families. One minute silence was also observed in honour of the departed souls.
The Committee also directed the District Development Commissioner, Leh to furnish factual position of Ladsani road accident to it for its perusal and references.
