One more militant killed in Gurez, toll 14
Srinagar Aug 23: One more militant was killed at Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipore district on Tuesday, taking the death toll in the ongoing gunfight to 14, police said.
“One more militant was killed in the gunfight with soldiers this afternoon. The gunfight was on when reports last came in,” it added.
Pertinently, Army last week had claimed to have foiled a major infiltration bid in the Gurez sector by killing 12 militants. An Army officer, Lieutenant Navdeep Singh, was also killed in the gunfight. With today’s killing the toll in the encounter rose to 14.
