4 more arrested, sent to CBI custody

MBBS, BDS impersonation case

Jammu, Aug 24: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four more persons in infamous MBBS/BDS impersonation case allegedly involving kins of some top politicians.
 Official sources said that CBI made the arrest after more names figured during the investigation of the case registered by it after government transferred the case to the agency for in-depth investigation.
 The arrested persons have been identified as Shahzeb S/o Khateeb Ahmed Malik R/o Bareli UP, Shahnawaz Hussain S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Nowabad Sunjwan Jammu, Naveen Mishra S/o Om Parkash R/o Hatta Bazaar Mohinder Garh Harayana and Muhammad Ashraf Hamal S/o Ghulam Muhammad Hamal R/o Nai Basti near P/S Kralkhud Srinagar.
 It is worthwhile to mention here that the case was initially being investigated by Gandhi Nagar Police and later it was transferred to CBI as names of the then cabinet minister and senior NC leader figured.
 Meanwhile, the accused were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu MS Parihar today.
 The court after hearing Senior Public Prosecutor SK Bhat with MS Brar DySP ACB for CBI and going through the application filed by the agency, allowed seven days CBI custody of the accused.
