Why I was always late to school? There is a reason

TRAFFIC MESS BY SABA BHAT

I am a college student now. Just few years before, I was  studying at school. With the change in tag, I perceived many other changes in me and my outside world. But the only thing that remained the same is my journey by bus.
As I feel embarrassed to narrate the journey that I experience these days, I will prefer to go back to my school days and share that experience.
It’s early in the morning. I check and recheck my books, notebooks and bag. I start approaching bus stop which is at stone’s throw from my home. First, I have to wait endlessly for the bus. And then! Stop! Start! Stop! What’s happening? Gosh! I forgot I have boarded a local bus. Thus begins my journey— an unsynchronized jolting. The bus is jam packed and I am one among a jostling and shoving mass of people. It doesn’t matter to which side you are, left or right.
Now, when I reach school I am always queued up among late-comers (majority of them the students who travel by bus). The teacher  punishes us. That punishment still haunts me. The  teacher would let us go only when the first class is halfway through. But now it’s the turn of the form teacher to take out his ire on us. Again that punishment haunts me. I keep wondering why the teachers punished us late comers when we were not guilty.
However, I have now passed that stage and moved on in my life.  But I believe the teachers would still be beating the late-comers the way they used to as the traffic situation in the city remains the same.
But who on earth would tell these teachers that it is the sluggish transport that is the culprit rather than the late-reaching students.
