SBI extends support to schools

Srinagar, Aug 24: Showing concern towards social cause, the State Bank of India, Residency Road here today donated 530 fans to 97 government schools in Kashmir Valley. This was announced by senior manager SBI Branch Residency Road Srinagar in a function at the bank’s headquarters here. Director School Education Shugufta Parveen was the chief guest on the occasion.
He said the schools identified will receive the fans through local SBI branches.
Director, School Education lauded the move of the Bank and expressed hope that SBI will continue its endeavours for betterment of education in Kashmir.
A U Tak, Regional Manager gave the details of various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives undertaken by the Bank at its various branches. He specifically made a mention of adopting 32 girl children for their overall development and ensuring their education up to 10th standard.
“Bank has taken up the responsibility of mentoring those little angels so as to bring an overall development of these girls,” he said. He said the Bank has also drawn a detailed action plan for conducting activities under Corporate Social responsibility during the remaining months of the calendar year. Meanwhile, many schools received the fans in the function itself.
