Massive Congregations At Jamia, Hazratbal

Srinagar, Aug 26: Thousands of people offered congregational Friday prayers at historic Jamia Masjid and Aasar-e-Sharief Dargah Hazratbal to mark Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. The day was also observed as Youm-e-Quds and Youm-e-Kashmir.
Some vital roads leading to Jamia Masjid were blocked to ensure smooth flow of devotees while heavy traffic jam was observed at Hazratbal.
Scores of cops were seen manning traffic at Hazratbal while vehicles were parked in Kashmir University lawns.
Both Jamia Masjid areas and Hazratbal wore a festive look, with people busy making purchases. At Jamia Masjid, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressed a huge gathering of people.
Congregational prayers were also held at Masjid Jamiat-e-Ahlehadith Gawkadal; Asar-e-Sharif Jenab Sahib Soura; Asar-e-Sharif Shehri Kalashpora; Ziarat Dastgeer Sahib Khanyar, Ziarat Dastgeer Sahib Sarai Bala; Ziarat-e-Makhdoom Sahib, Khanqah-e-Mualla, Sayeed Sahab Sanowar and several other mosques and shrines in Srinagar. Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yaseen Malik, addressed a gathering in Chrar-e-Sharief.
Anjuman Sharie Shian held congregational prayers at Budgam, Hasanabad, Magam, Chadoora, Gamdu, Nowgam, Sonawari and Chattergam and several other mosques and shrines.
The Chief Patron Anjuman Sharie Shian, Aga Syed Hassan Mustaffa Al-Safvi Al-Mosvi, addressed a large gathering at Imam Bara Budgam and took out a procession. On this special prayers were offered for Palestine and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Jamiat-e-Himayat-ul-Islam also organized daylong programs at different places in the Valley.
The JHI president Moulana Khursheed Ahmad Kanoongo addressed a gathering at Khanqah-e-Akmalikay, Mirza Kamil Sahib Hawal. The party Chief Patron Molvi Showkat Hussain Keng also threw light on the event at Khanqah-e-Suber Bab Sahib Barbar Shah, Srinagar. The provincial president Peer Abdul Hamid addressed the gathering at Jamia Qazigund, Moulana Abdul Haq Owasi at Khanqah-e-Owasiya Aali Kadal.
Meanwhile, Intizamiya Committee Abi Guzar also took out a procession from Abi Guzar Band. The procession was led by Aga Syed Abid Rizvi.
Meanwhile, Ahlibait Foundation Jammu and Kashmir also took out a large procession from Baghwanpora to Alamgari Bazar via Lal Bazar, Srinagar, to mark the Youm-e-Quds today. The procession was led by Ghulam Rasool Noori.
