Youth drowns

Jammu, Aug 26: A youth was drowned while taking bath in a canal at Chak Mange village in Samba district, police said on Friday.
It said that Sunil Singh son of Ram Singh of Chak Mange was taking bath on bank of the canal when he lost balance and drowned .
People raised alarm and rushed for the rescue of the youth but he was washed away in the strong water current.
His body, police said, was fished out with the help of local divers half-a-kilometers away from Chak Mange.
“The body was shifted to the district hospital Samba for legal formalities and later handed over to the family members,” police added.
