Timber smuggling bid foiled, 2 held

Jammu, Aug 27: Police on Saturday foiled a timber smuggling bid by arresting two smugglers at Bari Brahmana here.
 According to an official spokesman, a police team led by SHO Bari Brahmana Inspector Arun Jamwal under the supervision of Naresh Singh, based on specific inputs, raided M/S Sudh Pine Factory in the industrial area and seized a truck JK02R-9566.
 The truck was carrying smuggled timber when it was seized, police said adding, two alleged smugglers were also arrested, while their accomplice managed to escape from the spot.
 The arrested persons were identified as Nazir of village Toon and Gul Muhammad of Khada Madana, Bari-Brahmna.
