Congress blunders
The agitation by Anna Hazare has been the outcome of wrong policies of Congress. The Congress miscalculated on several factors. They refused to read the pulse of the nation. The first blunder was introduction of the Lokpal Bill and completely ignoring the Jan Lokpal Bill. This angered the nation and now the Congress is adamant on technicalities about the withdrawal of the Lok Pal Bill. The Congress further messed up the situation by hurling charges against Anna and attempting to undermine his character. The blunder was compounded when the Congress accused the movement of having the backing of communal forces, next calling the agitators Maoists and terrorists and lastly, accusing the US of fanning the agitation. The Congress now speaks of having referred the Lokpal Bill to the Standing Committee many of whose members are having criminal and fraudulent charges against them. All this clearly shows that the Congress is just not interested in the Jan Lok Pal Bill. They are interested in a Bill that will fully protect the corrupt. The nation is just not going to agree to this.
