Ascertain weather conditions: SASB to pilgrims

Srinagar Aug 2: The Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) R K Goyal on Tuesday once again asked the aspirant pilgrims to ascertain weather conditions before embarking for Amarnath pilgrimage. 
 The details of weather forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, at (www.amssdelhi.gov.in).
 As per the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for 3rd to 7thAugust: the sky is expected to remain mainly clear on  3rd  and 4th August, partly cloudy on 5th August, generally cloudy on 6th August and there is a possibility of generally cloudy sky with light rain/thundershowers on 7th August, 2011, in the Kashmir Division.
 Goyal also urged all intending pilgrims to have themselves medically examined and no one with an orthopaedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency should venture to undertake the arduous Yatra, involving trekking upto 14,000 feet.
