Govt to encourage youth to setup IG units: Div Com

Pampore, Aug 2: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today framed a core group for submitting an action plan for the development of Entrepreneurship in the valley and for providing information about the schemes presently in the pipeline for establishing new units in the valley especially cultivation of Mushroom and other economy generating industries.
 The members of the core group will be the Director Agriculture, Director Horticulture, Director Industries Director Entrepreneurship Development institute, representatives of SKUAST, J&K Bank and Entrepreneurs. The meeting was held in the backdrop of last meeting held with the Governor of J&K for the promotion of Agri entrepreneurship in the state. The Divisional Commissioner asked the core group to submit the said report in detail within 4 weeks to the Govt. for consideration.
 The meeting was attended by the District Development Commissioner Srinagar Mr. M A Kakroo, Vice Chancellor SKUAST, Dr. Tej Partap Singh, Director Agriculture Mr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director Industries and Director EDI, representatives of J&K Bank, Cooperatives, Various District and Entrepreneurs.
 The meeting discussed threadbare various issues related to development of Entrepreneurship culture in the state and hurdles and the bottlenecks faced by the entrepreneurs issues related to finance, marketing and linkages to national and international marketing.
 The Divisional Commissioner said there is a huge potential for developing the income generating trades, like sheep breeding, poultry, dairy etc.
 Meanwhile the meeting also discussed the facilitation that can be given by the Govt. and its various agencies in promoting the entrepreneurship in the valley canning and built of pasturing unit for the facilitation of the entrepreneurship was also discussed in the meeting.
 The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon all the concerned officers and agencies particularly Banks for removing all the bottlenecks coming in the way of establishing new units by the entrepreneurs and asked them to encourage those youths who want to establish their industries rather being after Govt. jobs, the Divisional Commissioner assured the entrepreneurs successive farmers that all their concerned issues will be taken up with higher authorities. He also said that the valley has very good marketing of Mushroom and the people can adopt this profitable job.
