SHAHID RAFIQ
Kupwara, Aug 2: A driver from Kupwara has gone missing in Jammu from July 20.
Carrying passengers in his vehicle (JK09-6670), Fayaz Ahmad Lone, 28, son of Ghulam Nabi Lone of Gulgam Kupwara left for Jammu on July 18 from the Kupwara stand. “Fayaz was in contact with us till July 20 through his cell no 9622909557. However, after dropping the passengers at Jammu, his cell phone got switched off,” the family told Greater Kashmir adding that they had been repeatedly making efforts to contact him, but to no avail.
“Whenever Fayaz used to stay in Jammu, he would make frequent calls to home. But this time, we haven’t heard from him,” said the visibly perturbed mother of missing youth.
According to the locals, Fayaz is the only earning hand for the family of seven.
“We have lodged a missing report in police station Kupwara and hope that police will trace Fayaz,” the family head Ghulam Nabi Lone told Greater Kashmir.
He sought the intervention of Inspector General of Police, S M Sahai in this regard.
