Shopian President’s Cup concludes
Srinagar, Aug 2: The Shopian President’s Cup Cricket Tournament organised by District Cricket Forum Shopian and sponsored by J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) concluded at Sports Stadium Shopian on Monday.
In the final, Shama Cricket Club defeated Inter Sports Shopian by 49 runs. Batting first, Shama scored 158 runs in 33.3 overs. Waseem Ganie was highest scorer for them with 35 runs while Nadeem Khan scored 32. In reply Inter Sports were bundled out for 109 runs in 22 overs. Aamir Ahmad made 32 runs for them while Afaq Khan made 23.
Waseem was adjudged as man of the match while Waseem Ganie of Shama club was adjudged as man of the series. The winning team was awarded cash prize of rupees 15000 while runner-up was awarded cash prize of rupees 10000.
The JKCA senior working committee member Ghulam Muhammad Rounga was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners.
